Mimicry Artistes Association of Mumbai (MAAM) organised Mimicry Festival 2009 at Dinanath Mangeshkar Hall in Vile Parle (East).
The Association felicitated actor / comedian Dinesh Hingoo at the hands of another senior actor / comedian Paintal. The event was attended by MAAM President Johny Lever, Narinder Bedi, Shagufta, Sudesh Bhonsle, Madhav Moghe, Dipoo Srivastava among others. Most notable artiste whose absense was felt was Raju Srivastava who could not attend due to some personal reasons. A few famous mimicry artistes also performed at the event
Mr.Moghe spoke about the Association and its objectives to the audience which consisted of the friends and family members of various mimicry artistes associated with MAAM. He remembered the contribution made by many mimicry artistes/ comperes of yesteryears like Johny Whisky, Shahid Bijnauri, Manohar Kamat, Dilip Dutt, Pratap Jani, Kamlakar Vaishampatan among others. He also announced about the new MAAM complex which will be of 25,000 sq.ft. consisting of MAAM office, a rehearsal hall, mimicry library, training school, auditorium among others.
It was a great day for me personally since I love comedy films / mimicry and I got an opportunity to meet so many comedy artistes at one place.
